Here We GO

Both twins are going on a strict diet for a month. (It's getting stricter and longer every time I write, isn't it!)

Steve's starting to see and we are comparing notes.

I have been researching Leaky Gut Syndrome and have come up with some interesting facts:
*Children who have been on antibiotics alot can suffer from this. The example given was of a child who had chronic ear infections and was on antibiotics. The natural flora of the bowel was destroyed leaving it open to yeast that destroys the lining of the bowel and weakening it to the point of being permeable. Food molecules can get through to the blood stream and go right to the brain.
*Speech is often affected
*Developmental delays are common.
* Social skills are behind
*Some kids will have learning disabilities
*They struggle with constipation or other bowel issues
*Dairy and Gluten consumption can seriously affect the child's behavior for as long as 48 hours or more
*It can affect their sleep
*They can be really picky eaters until they get off the offending foods
*They can be addicted to the foods they shouldn't eat or they  will avoid them - different kids act differently
*It won't necessarily show up on an allergy test, because it's reactions are different
*Some kids will have flaming red cheeks and ears
*This is all super common in autistic children.

AND MORE.

I'm on a roll - but overwhelmed at the same time.

Oh, and Christina had a burrito kind of late last night after symphony and woke up with nightmares .... AGAIN!

What's this world coming to?????

You know I totally believe in changing the diets helps to change the kids! We've seen it firsthand over here on the mountaintop.
Praying for peace for you and God's ever present source of strength as you begin this new adventure! :)
Much love!

Ours was on antibiotics almost constantly from 2 mos. home until, well still often for things we can't avoid. Garbage breathe/dark circles under the eyes/stomach aches/headaches/lethagy/depression/agression/teeth grinding/snoring due to congestion can be included in your list. Symptoms also of yeast overgrowth. We're considering the anti-yeast diet; but it looks AWFUL!. How is a person to figure out what is the root cause??! I kind of think it is all related. Culturelle makes a children's gf/cf probiotic that seems to help our girl (I noticed Walmart starting stocking it recently) otherwise we get it at an apothacary or online. If you ever want to compare notes, my email is gjmlogue@yahoo.com. Blessings, Jennifer

I'll be interested to hear how it works. Fudge was on a lot of meds as a little guy and I defintely see the connections for him between food and behaviour.
