I Should Never Say

.... That the twins are level headed.

One huge tantrum, and some purposeful destruction later...

Well, not to worry. He lost his room for the night, but unbeknownst to me he would have anyway. Nephew Andrew is here and in need of a bed. I packed up the train to be given away seeing he intended to destroy it... But have thought to wait until our behavioral therapist weighs in tomorrow.

The cause of the altered mental state?

15 minutes of computer time.

Happens every time. Seems to be a direct correlation between computer/ electronics and loss of self control.

It was not my idea that he use the computer. Vanessa thought he would learn something. I was a bit nervous about the plan............

Live and learn.

We see similar, though not as extreme, behavior when our kids have screen time. They become overly selfish and combative. Little Man becomes obsessive about it for days, asking ad nauseum when he can use the computer or iPad again. What is it about that stupid computer and our kids?!

you are so good at connecting their behaviors with some cause, I need to develop that skill more. I also need to bring more people on board. While my kids are not as extreme as yours, I still need to find help. Particularly for Mayahna's attachment issues. I called the 'Nova Center' (the only counseling center in town that takes Medicaid) and not only do they not have an Attachment therapist, they did not KNOW what that WAS!!!! Sad. And WRONG, on SO many levels!! HOWEVER, we DID find an AWESOME naturalpath, that I think will be able to help Ricky quite a bit, too. Anyway, keep up the good work, you inspire those around you with how well you connect the dots. (oh, and we had to put away M's Christmas toys within ten days of Christmas - she was NOT taking care of them. She'll earn them back (maybe) by taking good care of the few things that ARE in her room right now (books and clothes) we'll see...

well, it's not too hard to connect that every time he gets to use the computer for anything other than plain math facts he blows directly after. The last time was at Children's Hospital. He was playing with the wii in the waiting room and then the doctor called.... yeah. LOVELY. There was no warning that time, that his time was up, but like last night, we gave him a 15 minute warning.
