ASI

The biggest and most surprising news is that Dad was appointed
the ASI president
I don't think he saw that coming. He was asked and given 2 hours to pray about it and give his decision. He accepted and it was announced at the meeting last night.

My mom is really, really sick.
Like, don't know what's wrong, kind of sick.
Vertigo, coughing, vomiting, kind of sick.

Here we are waiting for the elevator :-)

The twins are doing amazingly well.
They are loving everything
late nights and all!!
They had a blast going through the missionary booths collecting all the trinkets.
The prized treasure is a little battery operated fan,
but James' batteries died almost right away, so kind of a bummer.
Julie bought Buster a pair of sunglasses... but she wasn't thinking about the fact that he wears glasses and can't see without them.
No matter. A head can sport two pairs of glasses, just fine.
HOLD HANDS!
This ain't the YUKON nor is it SMALL TOWN WA!!!
So many youth!
So many ministries and opportunities for service.
Amazing!
And here's Reina with me - she went to Fountainview with us 25 years ago.  She lives somewhere around here and
she has made the effort twice to come out and visit with us.

Booths, booths and more booths....
Last night as we were leaving the convention center there was a beggar just outside the door.
Normally, we don't support drinking and smoking and drug use... but for whatever reason Steve felt he should give the guy a few dollars to supplement his handful of dimes just in case he really was in need. The man was old and he was holding a carnation and also had a handful of GLOW tracts that convention goers had given him. Two little boys were talking to him and they said they would give him something if they had money, but they didn't  have any and the man responded with a "God bless you my son". They returned the blessing and Steve handed the man a couple of bills. James was watching and taking it all in. He recognized the man was poor and reached into his pocket and pulled out his only dollar, the very dollar he has carried in his pants pocket since Becky gave it to him on his birthday back in February.
As we left, all James said was, "The man said, 'thank you my brother!' to ME!"

Missy has an infection in her foot. We are doing all we can to get it to heal - charcoal poltices and all. I'm afraid it might be MRSA. It did look better last night, but she was tired of walking on it!!

I'm tempted to go on a rant about  the new DELL laptop my husband just bought...
the thing has seized and crashed on me 10 times in the writing of this post!!!!
What should take me 10 minutes takes hours and I'm back on the mac.

What surprising news! Well, I hope it will be a blessing for everyone involved. Anyway, I don't know if your Dad is checking his e-mails these days. The thing is that the German airtraffic controllers have been threatening with strike, and it may actually happen this coming Monday when he is supposed to fly in to Frankfurt. However, it will only be announced for sure 24 hours in advance. But I would be grateful if you could alert him. I'm sure the airline would inform him by e-mail if there are any problems. Enjoy your time at ASI! God bless, Daniela

I enjoyed listening to your brother talk about One-Day Churches on television this afternoon.

It looks like you are having a wonderful time!
